FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 11, 2015

World Spay Day at Seattle Humane was a great success! On February 18, the shelter performed 136 low-fee spay and neuter surgeries for cats belonging to low-income owners. Male cat neuters were $5 and female cats spays were $15, with $5 microchipping and FVRCP vaccinations also available.

“Spaying and neutering keeps pets from producing unwanted litters and reduces many health risks for our beloved companions,” said CEO David Loewe. “We’re so grateful to the veterinary staff and volunteers who helped us achieve this goal, and to all of the responsible pet owners who have brought us one step closer to ending pet homelessness.”

As a proud participant in the 21st anniversary of World Spay Day, Seattle Humane partnered with 15 animal welfare organizations and 30 local veterinary clinics to perform more than 897 spay and neuter surgeries in February.
