Adopt-a-Cat Month

Brenda with CatJune is Adopt-a-Cat Month at the Seattle Humane Society! All month long, adoption fees are waived on cats one year and older. Summer marks the beginning of kitten season and that means we are filled to the brim with nearly 400 cats and kittens who need homes of their own. Sadly, our adult cats are often overlooked during kitten season and they have to wait weeks or months for the home they deserve. Find out more about Adopt-a-Cat Month...

Foster Care Program

bottle-fedding-kittensSummertime is the perfect time to foster an animal. Volunteer to provide temporary foster care for a litter of kittens or puppies, a cat or a dog. If you have kids, fostering is a great summer project. Last year, 3,001 animals in foster homes received the extra care they needed to become adoptable. All you need is a spare room and a big heart – we’ll provide the rest! Learn more about our Foster Care Program...

Happy Tails

kittenDoug, a 3-month-old gray tabby kitten, was surrendered to the Seattle Humane Society with his brother and sister when they were just two days old. Some shelters don’t give kittens a chance, but thanks to our Foster Care Program, Doug and his littermates received the extra care they needed to grow healthy and adoptable. When they were old enough, we spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated the kitties and found loving homes for each of them. Read more adoption success stories...
