FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 3, 2016
More than 700 animal lovers and their pets gathered at Seattle Humane's 14th annual Walk for the Animals at Green Lake on Sunday, Oct. 2, raising $90,000. We are hoping to bridge the gap over the next few days as donations continue to come in to reach our goal of $140,000. These life-saving funds will help Seattle Humane provide food, shelter, and veterinary care to thousands of orphaned pets in our community. Donations can still be made at http://bit.ly/2dUViTt
The highest fundraising team was "Seattle Humane Board of Directors", raising $4,640. The top individual fundraiser was Calvin Rowland, raising $8,500.
After the 2.8 mile dog walk, the fun continued with vendor booths, raffles, photo booths, and a stage show featuring adoptable pets. A highlight this year was guest Richard Purrman taking selfies with well behaved dogs and getting everyone in the Seahawks spirit.
