FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 7, 2011
‘Tis the season of giving and no animal should go without! That’s why the Seattle Humane Society and Safeway have teamed up again for our annual Holiday Pet Food Drive to help fill the shelves of our Pet Food Bank. Look for collection barrels in your local King County Safeway store throughout December. Pick up a few extra cans of pet food or a bag of dry pet food – and drop them in! Dry cat food is our greatest need.
Seattle Humane Society’s Pet Food Bank provides pet food every month to more than 1,600 pets belonging to low-income seniors and people disabled by AIDS. Thanks to the Pet Food Bank, more than 1,300 pet owners each month don’t have to choose between self care and pet care.
Ways you can help!
1. Donate canned or dry pet food at your local Safeway store throughout December. Dry cat food is our greatest need.
2. Make it a team effort by holding a pet food drive in your community at your church, synagogue, school or business.
3. Spread the word: text, blog, wall post & tweet today!
4. Donate pet food right from your computer. Order a bag (or two!) from our Wish List at Amazon.com and send to Seattle Humane Society, 13212 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue, WA 98005. (So we may acknowledge your generous gift, send your Amazon receipt to firstname.lastname@example.org).
Our volunteers pack, load and deliver this canned and dry pet food to local senior centers, low-income housing complexes, food banks and individual homes. Help us help pets, and people too, by giving to the Seattle Humane Society Pet Food Bank this holiday season.
