ADOPT A SHELTER PET THIS HOLIDAY SEASON Don’t support the puppy mill industry by buying a pet online or from a store
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:December 21, 2012
Seattle Humane Society is reminding animal lovers that local shelters are the best place to meet a new four-legged family member this holiday season. In the past many shelters discouraged families from adopting pets during the holidays, but this did not stop them from getting new pets. It just took away the adoption option and forced people to stores and online purchases that support the puppy mill industry.
More families bring pets into their homes during the holidays than at any other time of year, and Seattle Humane Society has dogs, cats and critters of all breeds, colors and sizes just waiting for a home of their own. Puppy mills are more concerned with making a profit then tending to the welfare of the animals in their possession. Seattle Humane Society takes its mission to care for animals very seriously. That includes providing each animal with essential care and taking the time to find them loving and responsible homes during adoption events and all year round.
Potential adopters go through the normal adoption process to ensure the safety of our pets and to make lifelong matches that will stick. If you are interested in welcoming a pet into your home this holiday season, please stop by Seattle Humane Society in Bellevue to experience the adoption process first-hand.
