FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 28, 2013
Great news for Pit Bulls! In June, Seattle Humane Society has 25 spots for FREE spay and neuter surgeries (normally $50) for Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes belonging to low-income community members. The dogs will also receive free vaccinations and microchips will be available for $5.
Appointments are required and space is limited, so sign up now. Low-income residents of King County can see if they qualify and make an appointment at seattlehumane.org/fix or call (425) 649-7560. The surgeries will be performed at the Seattle Humane Society, 13212 SE Eastgate Way in Bellevue.
Through no fault of their own, Pit Bulls end up in shelters more often than any other breed. Spaying and neutering helps reduce shelter surrenders, pet homelessness caused by unplanned litters and the risk of many cancers.
